Safety guidelines

Renttory is built on trust between neighbors. These guidelines help every rental go smoothly.

For renters

• Book and pay only through Renttory. Payments made outside the platform aren't protected and break our terms.
• Read the listing, rental rules and cancellation policy before you book.
• Inspect the item at pickup and take a few photos. Report anything wrong right away from your booking.
• Use the item as intended and follow any safety instructions the owner provides.
• Return it on time, clean, and in the condition you received it.

For owners

• Describe the item honestly, including any wear or defects, and add clear photos.
• Include safety instructions and any protective equipment needed.
• Consider requiring ID verification and a refundable security deposit for valuable items.
• Take photos at handover and at return. They help resolve any disagreement quickly.
• Keep all communication and payment on Renttory.

Meeting in person

• Meet in a public, well-lit place when you can, or share your plans with someone you trust.
• Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, you don't have to go ahead.
